I UNDERSTAND that John Woo's Red Cliff is a war movie and the battle scenes are inevitable. But I feel that certain battle scenes disqualify the movie from a PG rating.
Although intimate scenes of Zhou Yu and his wife were censored, the violence in some battle scenes was gratuitous.

In one scene, a soldier is noosed and then dragged off before he is brutally lanced to death. I shook my head as the audience laughed, as the scene seemed to provide comic relief.

I wonder if the censors had chosen to cut sex and not violence?




-.- the people once complained that the censors were too strict, now they get what they want, they say its too lenient. great. so hard to satisfy.
