Pioneer IB batch in ACS passes with flying colours OMFFFFFF. 9 students got perfect scores. By Jane Ng THE pioneer batch of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) students who sat for the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations has passed with flying colours, with nine getting a perfect score of 45. The nine are among 20 who got perfect scores from around the world. The IB exam is used for entry into university and is offered in 2,200 schools in 125 countries. ACS(I) is the first local school to offer such an exam, in place of the A levels. The new School of the Arts will also offer it in five years time. The school offers a six-year integrated programme, taking students from Secondary 1 through to Junior College 2 level. The school sent 357 students for the exam in November and only one did not get the full diploma. More than half of its students (54 per cent) scored over 40 points, qualifying them for top-notch universities like Harvard and Oxford. |
