MORE than half of Singaporeans feel their sex lives lack excitement, a major new survey has revealed.
Findings showed that two in five of respondents feel uninhibited during sex, and only slightly more than half of them are comfortable telling their partners what they want in bed.

Currently, 42 per cent of all Singaporean lovers find their sex lives exciting.

This is fewer than the Chinese (64%), the Malaysians (62%) and the Thais (43%).

Less than half (45%) of Singaporeans think their sex lives have enough variety.

These findings were among the latest results from the Durex Wellbeing Global Survey, which has been taking an intimate peek behind bedroom doors around the world.

It's the second major tranche of the survey, with analysis of physical pleasure and sexual knowledge as well as education coming up next year.

The poll also found that the early years of a relationship are the most adventurous, yet older people still enjoy a variety of activities to keep passion alive.

Nearly half (48%) of those aged over 55 practise oral sex and more than a third act out sexual fantasies.

The survey revealed that Singaporeans aren't among the world's most experienced lovers. The men here have had eight partners - one less than Malaysians and five less than the global average of 13.

The Singaporean women's total of three is higher than that of the Malaysians' two and four below the global average.

When asked what would improve their sex lives, most Singaporeans list more romance and better communication with their partners as top priorities.

According to the survey, Singaporeans expect people to become more experimental in their sex lives in the future and are optimistic it'll happen within 10 years.
