'Bowl for free - and into record books THE Singapore Bowling Federation (SBF) is rewriting the record books, but it will not need the national bowlers. It is staging the Republic's first bowling marathon, a 40-hour event starting at 2am tomorrow, in an attempt to enter the Singapore Book of Records. And, instead of familiar names like Remy Ong and Jazreel Tan, members of the public will be asked to step up to the lanes. The event is at the Velocity@Novena Square, where a two-lane alley has been set up for the first time in a shopping mall. At press time, Carl de Vries is leading the men's Open Masters qualifiers with 987 pinfalls. Veteran Sam Goh, who hit a perfect game on Friday, is second on 980.
